Bid For New Drainage Funding

Staunton on Wye Group Parish Council has applied for new drainage funding.

Published: 9 September 2025

Flooding is a growing risk, and the parish’s drains and ditches often can’t cope.

Staunton on Wye Group Parish Council has applied for a grant from Herefordshire’s Local Drainage Fund to help put this right.

If awarded the grant will mean improvements to drainage on the main lane through the village (C1090, and on Little London, School Lane and Church Lane.

Work will be carried out by the recently appointed Parish Lengthsman, GWG Tree & Garden Services.

You can read the minutes of the 8th September 2025 meeting – which also included plans for the telephone boxes and for highways improvements – by visiting the meetings pages.

A copy of the draft minutes are attached.
