How should we spend new housing money?
When new housing estates are built money is paid to the local community. How should Staunton on Wye spend this "section 106" funding?
Published: 9 September 2025
Staunton on Wye Group Parish Council is seeking residents views on how to spend “section 106” funding.
The funds – paid by developers of new housing estates with more than 9 houses – are available to help improve infrastructure. The aim is to make it easier for new housing to fit into its host community.
The money – which can beĀ seven or eight-figure sums – is paid direct by developers to Herefordshire Council.
Herefordshire then allocates it to projects based on a list of Parish priorities.
What priorities would you like to see benefit?
Winners are often schools, playgrounds and traffic management schemes (yellow lines or traffic calming). Village halls can also benefit.
